Setting

The game takes place in Athens 2048.

This is not a political game. The purpose is to have fun, pull off ridiculous stunts, and spray-paint your name across a city that forgot about its people.

The Talos don't care about ordinary people's problems. In fact, they're usually the ones causing them, running shady operations while the city crumbles around everyone else.

Population & Area

After a population decline starting in the 2020s, a wave of foreign mega-investments reshaped Athens beyond recognition:

  1. The population exploded from ~5 million to ~200 million.
  2. Thousands of skyscrapers went up practically overnight, stacked so high they scrape the clouds.
  3. The Athens Metropolitan sector swallowed Piraeus, Megara, Corinth, and everything in between. Former cities became mere neighbourhoods in the sprawl.

The skyscrapers are so massive that entire ecosystems thrive on their rooftops: parks, markets, even forests. Players can grind rail-to-rail between rooftop gardens 300 floors up. Heroes with the Rooftop Royalty Feat get a Free Re-roll on any roll made up here.

The biggest investors came from Japan and the USA, flooding the city with neon signage, ramen bars, and 24/7 diners. Players will stumble into cultural hubs like Chinatown, Little Tokyo, and countless others tucked between the towers.

Sectors

The mega-city is carved into 5 sectors. Each sector tracks reputation independently:

  1. North suburbs - stretching all the way to Chalkida. Home turf of the Mont du Taggies.
  2. South suburbs - down to Sounio and the coast.
  3. West suburbs - out to Corinth. Controlled by Yo Mama Jama.
  4. East suburbs - reaching Rafina.
  5. Center - the old heart of Athens, now dwarfed by everything around it. The most contested sector.

Weather

Unless stated otherwise, adventures take place under blazing sun. At night it's still warm, and rain is rare. Perfect weather for riding, grinding, and tagging.

Locations

Metro

The metro has been ripped overground. Official reason: "modernisation." Real reason: so the Talos can track every passenger more easily.

The metro is prime territory for chases. Heroes on Gear can grind the rails, ride the rooftops of moving trains, and use the stations as launchpads. Heroes with the Antenna Surfer Feat can ride the overhead power lines between stations.

  1. Line 1 (Green) - Piraeus to Chalkida
  2. Line 2 (Red) - Acharnes to Sounio, cutting straight through the city's spine
  3. Line 3 (Blue) - Salamina to Rafina
  4. Line 4 (Yellow) - Corinth to Tatoi

Neo Mall

Sector: North

Twelve floors of pure consumer madness. Car dealerships, holo-cinemas, rooftop pools, you name it. If it can be bought, Neo Mall sells it. Owned and operated by Vivid.

But beneath it all, a secret network of tunnels snakes through the old sewers. The Talos (and a few daring Crews) use them for operations that definitely don't appear on any floor plan.

The mall is a goldmine for Crowd Surfer Heroes - twelve floors of shoppers make for endless terrain. It's also where Heroes can spend Cash to buy equipment during a Time-Out (Shopping action).
